Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan

Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan (BVB) was established by legendary writer, statesman and academician Dr. Kanaiyalal Maneklal Munshi in 1938, in Mumbai, to promote education and professional training with the values, virtues and the culture of India. 

Born in Bharuch in 1887, he had graduated from Baroda College in Arts in 1906 and completed his LLB in 1910. He was an acclaimed lawyer in Mumbai. He was a freedom fighter and a trusted lieutenant of Gandhiji and later a member of the Indian Constituent Assembly. A prolific reader and a writer, Munshi was one of the builders of modern India. 

Today Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan is very well known and has many colleges, schools, cultural centres, and several institutions, within and outside India, through which it contributes significantly to academic, cultural, and social development across the country.

Academic Schedule

• Contact Hours: Minimum 180 contact hours, up to 250 hours.
• Batch Timings: Evening and Sunday morning classes, a mix of classroom and online lectures.
• Once in a month: Sunday morning – 9.30 am to 12.30 pm (for workshops and guest & special lectures, events etc.)
• Teaching calendar: Over 10 months of teaching and 2 months of exams and it preparations.
• Contact Days: A total of 12 to 13 visits in a month.
• Festivals and holidays: As per the published schedule of holidays. In case of cancellation or re-schedule of classes during festival days, the re-schedule date and timings will be discussed with the students.

Bhavan’s Rajendra Prasad Institute of Communication and Management, (RPICM,) Mumbai will award the diploma. RPICM was established by BVB in 1961 to impart professional training to students and young executives.
